Assistant Principal's Message
I am thrilled to be serving Emerson Elementary part time this year! This is my 23rd year with Bartow County Schools. I started as a paraprofessional at Hamilton Crossing Elementary, just out of high school, where I worked with Kindergarten, Second Grade, and in the Media Center. I stayed there for 1 ½ years until my oldest daughter, Cami, came along (she now teaches Kindergarten at White Elementary). While being a mom and cleaning houses, babysitting, and subbing, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Floyd College and Brenau University at night and on weekends. I began teaching at Hamilton Crossing in 1996 as a First Grade teacher, and later moved to Fifth Grade ELA/Reading. While teaching at HCES, I went on to earn my Master’s Degree and Teacher Support Specialist Endorsement from Brenau, and my Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University. I joined the staff at Pine Log Elementary in late April, 2006, as Assistant Principal, where I stayed for 7 years. My last year there, I was also half-time at Kingston Elementary. Before starting this year, I served as Assistant Principal at Cloverleaf Elementary for four years.
As a lifelong resident of Bartow County, I am vested in this great system; I was educated in this great system (elementary, middle, and high school), as were my parents and children, and I BELIEVE in this great system!
TOGETHER, we will SOAR!
